All That Glitters

  Today I placed an order with Walmart and asked for delivery.  Perfect.   I checked the status of my delivery.  One minute.  One long minute I'd say.  I thought about being at the door but I didn't want to deal with them.  Finally the screen said "delivered," so I went out to bring in the groceries.  It had been a pretty large order, but not as much as you might think $400 should buy you.   I was disappointed to see that, although I have a front porch, and plus it's been a rainy day, the perfect place to the Twinkie that made the delivery was out in the yard.  Around 20 feet.  ???  Why?   Over the next 45 minutes I brought in the groceries.  When it rains it makes my legs hurt more, and with nothing on the porch, it was necessary to climb the stairs several times.  Way way out was the water - Sam's water.  Two cases, around thirty lbs each.  They're still out there and probably will be for a ...

  Today I got a message on my voicemail from the VA.  Someone named Jessica asked me to return her call.  It was 3:15.  I called the VA and was placed on hold until 3:50.  Finally Shalandra answered and I asked to speak to Jessica.  "That clinic closed at 4:00."  Shalandra suddenly realized it was 3:50.  "That clinic closed at 3:45.  Please call back tomorrow."  What do I think this is about?  Well, maybe because I had called for my prescriptions to be corrected.  Maybe because I had told them to change me to a different doctor.  There is no way to reach them on the phone.  If you show up in person you will be told to go sit in the waiting room.  There is no email.  So I guess write Jessica a letter.    Really,  I should write my senator.   Update.  I did write my senator.  

  A long time ago now, maybe even a year, I decided to change VA clinics from one county to another.  This is something I've done in the past because there is no VA clinic in this county, so I have my choice between neighboring counties, these counties located in different regions of the state.   The previous clinic had lost its doctor, which left me trying to limp along with a nurse only and it wasn't working.   So find a questionable doctor?   My first appointment with my latest doctor was about a month ago.  What needed to happen?  Figuring out some mysterious malady?  Brain surgery?  The mysterious malady was that other doctors in the past had written prescriptions for me, a total of two, and the time had come for them to be refilled.  This wasn't rocket science.  And yet, it has gone completely off the rails.  Why?  Well, the doctor intentionally screwed around with my prescriptions for reasons known on...

  I know.  This happened last time I got delivery from Walmart.  I'm not ordering Walmart delivery again! I had vowed.   What if I had ordered pizza delivery?  Would they have found my house?  I think so.   Today was even stranger than usual.  Around 7:00 pm I checked the software on Walmart to track my order.  Two minutes away.  After around 10 minutes they were actually heading this way.  OK.  Soon "Naomy" zoomed by my house.  Then after a while she made a  u turn and made a second pass.  Then she stopped at a nearby parking lot, probably for a cigarette or a Coke.  Then she tooted by my house again, making a u turn in the driveway before leaving with my order still in her vehicle.   And mind you, Naomy has been here before.  This went on and on for 45 minutes.  I checked at the door to make certain there had been no delivery.  Nope.  I called the local Walmart. ...
